Terms of Use
These conditions cover universalappliancerepairs.com, published by Universal Appliance Repair, and every repair the company carries out. Using the site or asking for a technician means taking them as they stand.
1. Agreement to these conditions
Booking work with us, or simply reading these pages, brings this document and our Privacy Policy into effect between you and the company. Anyone unwilling to accept either has an obvious alternative: close the page and engage a different repair firm.
2. Scope of the work we do
Technicians work on site, diagnosing and repairing large domestic appliances in the position they occupy. Categories run from refrigeration and wine storage through cooking equipment, dishwashers, laundry pairs, ice machines and plumbed coffee systems, built-in and panel-fronted installations included. The territory is eleven towns spread across the San Fernando Valley and the Westside of Los Angeles. Three practical conditions govern an individual visit: a technician has to be free, the required part has to be obtainable, and the machine has to be approachable without danger.
3. Appointments, windows and arrival
What gets reserved for you is a window, not a minute. The 101, the 405, a crossing over Coldwater or Laurel, a preceding call that runs deeper than it looked – each of these moves arrival times, and you get a call call when yours moves. An adult of 18 or older needs to be at the address the whole time a technician is working there.
4. How a repair gets diagnosed and priced
A service call charge attaches to every visit. You hear the figure when the appointment is made, not after a technician has already parked outside. Go ahead with the repair he recommends and that charge comes off what you owe. Turn the repair down and it remains payable, because the vehicle still traveled, the hours were still worked, and the machine was still examined.
Repairs are quoted as one agreed price, reached only after the appliance has been diagnosed properly. If opening the unit brings a second issue to light, the technician stops there and waits for your approval before touching it.
5. Invoicing and payment
Money falls due as soon as the work is finished, unless something different was agreed in writing beforehand. Payment methods accepted are whichever ones are advertised on the date of your appointment. Should an invoice go unpaid, the balance may be handed to a collection agency, within the limits California law sets on that.
6. Warranty cover, in outline
Parts supplied by us and the labor of installing them both carry written cover. Duration, boundaries and the procedure for lodging a claim are laid out twice over, once on our warranty page and once inside the Refund, Return and Cancellation Policy.
7. Machine condition, and the jobs we turn down
Appliances are taken as they come. A few get refused: a machine in dangerous condition, one already altered by a previous repairer, one damaged by flooding or by rodents, or one whose remaining need is a part nobody manufactures any longer. Where the sensible verdict is that a repair should not be attempted, we say so out loud and bill the service call charge alone.
Sliding a built-in unit clear of its opening puts cabinetry, flooring and the connections behind the housing at some risk, and protective measures accompany that operation every time. Weakness already present in a floorboard, a cabinet run, a supply line or an electrical connection is a separate matter. A failure of that kind at the moment of movement is not something the company can stand behind.
8. Access to the appliance and conditions on site
Clearing a path to the machine is your side of the arrangement, as is warning us about hazards you know of. A technician who finds the premises or the appliance genuinely unsafe is entitled to leave, and in that event the service call charge is still owed.
9. Standing of the material published here
Everything written on universalappliancerepairs.com is background reading for a general audience. No article guarantees that a specific problem can be fixed, or fixed for a specific sum, and dollar figures shown anywhere are illustrations rather than quotations. Do not treat the procedures described as instructions to follow: household current and gas lines injure people, and much of this work sits under regulation in any case.
10. Trademarks and manufacturer references
Brand names, trademarks and model numbers used across these pages are the property of whichever companies own them, and they show up for one reason only, so a reader can tell which equipment we handle. Universal Appliance Repair is an independent repair business. A brand shown here signals nothing about affiliation with its owner, endorsement by it, or appointment from it, unless that relationship is stated expressly in our own words.
11. Our copyright
Copyright in the text, design, photography and code of universalappliancerepairs.com rests with Universal Appliance Repair. Reproducing or republishing any portion of it calls for our written consent first.
12. The limit on what we owe
So far as California law allows, any liability of ours arising out of a service visit, or out of this website, stops at the amount charged for the service concerned. Indirect and consequential losses fall outside that cap, spoiled food, lost trade and property damage among them, unless negligence on our part was the direct cause. Rights that California consumer statutes confer on you and do not permit you to waive are unaffected by anything in this paragraph.
13. Governing law and where disputes go
California law governs this agreement. A dispute arising from it is to be brought in Los Angeles County, before either the state courts or the federal courts sitting there. Consumer protection legislation in California applies to residents with full force, and anyone with a grievance about appliance repair work may also approach the California Department of Consumer Affairs, whose Bureau of Household Goods and Services has oversight of this trade.
