Careers
Hiring technicians for eleven Los Angeles routes. The people who read your application are the ones you would be working beside.
Universal Appliance Repair is hiring, and the work here does not thin out between seasons: eleven towns, twenty-four brands, an integrated refrigeration column in Encino before lunch and a laundry pair in Burbank after it. We hire for the long run, and the company pays for certification and manufacturer coursework.
Why technicians stay at Universal
- A van stocked deep enough to finish the job on the first trip
- Steady year-round routes from Calabasas across to Beverly Grove
- Paid EPA Section 608 certification and manufacturer coursework
- Advancement as the operation grows
- Medical benefits and paid time off
- A dispatch board built around a workable day, not an overloaded one
The Job in Plain Terms
Eleven towns worked out of Sherman Oaks: the Valley run from Studio City west to Calabasas, and the Westside run over the hill into Beverly Hills, West Hollywood and Beverly Grove. A stocked van, set appointment times, and a dispatcher who routes around the 405 rather than pretending it is not there. No technician here is pushed to hurry a call for the sake of a daily tally, because the equipment we are known for punishes that.
What You Would Be Opening
Panel-ready dishwashers and refrigeration columns, stacked wall ovens, professional ranges, wine cabinets, undercounter ice machines and built-in coffee systems, much of it fitted into millwork that cost more than the appliance did. Laundry and freestanding equipment fills out the rest of the week. Hillside kitchens under Mulholland, 1950s ranch houses in Valley Village, courtyard buildings in West Hollywood with a freight elevator and a parking problem: the variety is genuine.
Who Does Well Here
- A clean driving record, and nothing in your history that a background check will stumble over.
- Presentable, straightforward with owners, and inclined to protect a floor before anybody thinks to ask.
- Willing to tell an owner, out loud, that a machine is finished and should not take parts.
- Mechanical and electrical ability, plus a habit of metering first and naming the part second.
- EPA Section 608 certification counts in your favor. If you do not hold it yet, we will put you through it.
After You Apply
What you send is read by the office staff and the technicians you would be riding out with, not by a filter. Where it looks like a match, expect a call call, then a longer conversation and a day out on the road with somebody. Either way you hear back.
